The wines from Domaine Gaston & Pierre Ravaut are structured and powerful. Grapes are completely de-stemmed and fermentation takes place in concrete vats, followed by a minimum of 12 months in barrel using a low proportion of about 15% to 20% new oak. The 2018 vintage reveals a deeper but more restrained nose than previous years. There is a pleasant density of cranberries and strawberries on the palate, followed by some flint and spices. The firm tannic structure will soften over time.
