Pazo Señorans is a relatively new company but, in a short space of time, has garnered a reputation as one of the finest producers of Albariño in the Rias Baixas DO of Galicia. Selección de Añada is their top cuvée and the 2011 is the current release having spent 8 years maturing in stainless steel tanks. There is absolutely no suggestion of oxidation here and, in fact, despite its relative age, this is remarkably vibrant and fresh. Silky and rounded in texture, it exhibits delicious notes of stone fruit, citrus, fennel, grass, flint and smoke. This is a serious and complex Albariño which would be an excellent pairing with almost any seafood.
