Clos de Vougeot

Instantly recognisable by its imposing château of the same name (since 1945 home to the Brotherhood of the Knights of Tastevin), the iconic walled vineyard of Clos de Vougeot is located in the commune of Vougeot in the Côte de Nuits.
At more than 50ha, this historic Grand Cru is the largest in the region and is very fragmented, with more than 100 small plots owned by more than 80 producers. Its wines are commensurately varied in both style and quality, though those from parcels on the middle and top slope of the clos are generally recognised as the best.
