Chapelle-Chambertin

Chapelle-Chambertin, Burgundy, France

Named after the small chapel which once stood on this site, the 5.5ha vineyard of Chapelle-Chambertin is one of nine Grands Crus within the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits sub-region of Burgundy.

Located just below the illustrious Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze, the east-facing slope of Chapelle is one of the lesser-known Grands Crus in the area. But while the Pinot Noirs produced here may carry the same stellar reputation as those of its illustrious neighbours, they are nevertheless among the most profound, long-lived and and beautifully fragranced Pinot Noirs in the entire region.
