Vilafonté Series C 2019 is a full-bodied Bordeaux blend produced in the Paarl region of South Africa`s Western Cape. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 10% Malbec, 6% Cabernet Franc, the Series C was matured in French oak barrique (74% new) for 22 months. Founded in 1997, Vilafonté is a joint Californian-South African venture between Zelma Long (ex-Mondavi winemaker), Phil Freese (also ex-Mondavi) and Mike Ratcliffe, who together seek to create Cape blends which stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the world`s finest red wines.
