Château Tronquoy – formerly known as Tronquoy-Lalande – is a wine estate situated in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. In a departure from the norm in this appellation, Merlot constitutes over 50% of the blends. The Grand Vin typically undergoes a 12-month ageing process in French oak barrels, with approximately a quarter being new. The 2004 vintage was notably successful on the Left Bank, particularly in appellations like Margaux, Pauillac, and Saint-Estèphe. Margaux wines displayed elegance and refinement, while Saint-Estèphe yielded both bold, powerful expressions and more sophisticated examples.
