Timo Mayer Close Planted Pinot Noir 2022 is a medium-bodied red wine produced from Pinot Noir grapes in the Yarra Valley region of Australia. Produced from some of the oldest vines in the Bloody Hill vineyard in Yarra, Timo Mayer`s Close Planted is one of the most sought-after Pinot Noirs in Australia. Close plantings force the Pinot vines to compete for water and nutrients – a struggle which produces fruit with huge character and intensity. Winemaker note. "Some of the oldest Bloody Hill vines, garnet red in colour with a nose of dark sweet cherry, fresh lovage, and smoke. Sweet strawberry and cherry fruit on the plate immediately followed by savoury, meaty umami notes. Very fine tannins and good length."
