Testalonga is a boutique winery located in the Swartland region of South Africa, founded by winemaker Craig Hawkins and his wife, Carla. ‘El Bandito Queen of Spades’ is one of the wines from Testalonga`s portfolio, and it is made from 100% Syrah. The grapes are sourced from a single vineyard with low-yielding vines, which contributes to the wine`s concentration and intensity. The winemaking process involves minimal intervention, with spontaneous fermentation using wild yeasts, and little to no use of sulphites. The wine is typically aged in used oak barrels for an extended period before bottling.
