Fourth Growth
Bordeaux, France
With a rich history dating back to the 15th century, Château Talbot is a well-known Fourth Growth situated in the Saint-Julien appellation, close to the Gironde Estuary. It is owned by members of the Cordier family, one of the most influential clans in Bordeaux. The property stretches over a 110-hectare single block vineyard, of which 102.5 hectares are dedicated to its Grand Vin. The 2009 vintage is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. The nose is dominated by aromas of ripe blackberries and cassis, with hints of mint. The palate is very clean and precise, with a medium body, rounded tannins and spot-on acidity.
