Tacama is a historic winery in the Ica Valley, Peru, known for producing a variety of high-quality wines using both traditional and modern winemaking techniques. The Ica Valley is located in the southern part of Peru and benefits from a desert climate with warm days and cool nights, which allows for a slow, even ripening of the grapes. Tannat is a grape variety originally from the Madiran region in southwestern France, but it has been successfully cultivated in various New World wine regions, including Peru. The nose suggests aromas of blackberries, black cherries and plums, along with notes of black pepper, leather, and a hint of smoked wood. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with a rich fruit character, firm tannins, and well-balanced acidity.
