Stellenzicht, founded in 1692, is almost as old as the town of Stellenbosch itself. The 1997 Syrah is savoury, dark and complex. The nose shows deep bramble fruit, hints of spicy oak and an underlying meaty and dried herb complexity. The palate is structured, fine and long with lovely balance throughout.
