Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars was founded in 1970 by Warren Winiarski and is arguably one of the most important California wineries having won the Cabernet Sauvignon competition at the famous 1976 Judgement of Paris. Cask 23 is a blend of the best parcels of fruit from the two flagship vineyards, SLV and Fay, and is only produced in exceptional vintages. Having had a superb run of form in recent vintages, the 2016 release is perhaps the best of them all. An incredibly full-bodied, rich and complex wine, with excellent potential longevity.
