A lesser-known spirit comparing to the popular tequila and mezcal, sotol is only made from wild-harvested sotol plants – also known as Dasylirion – found in the regions of Chihuahua, Coahuila and Durango. This is a blend made by Lupe López under the Sotoleros label and it is composed of equal parts agave Angustifolia, agave Shrevei, and dasylirion Wheeleri. Similar in flavour to his Clande Ensambles, this expression is marked by different citrus notes, including tangerines, satsumas and oranges, complemented by hints of peppermint and incense.
