For over five decades, Schramsberg Vineyards has been producing exceptional quality Traditional Method sparkling wines in California and J. Schram is an assemblage of the very best base wine lots of the approximately 300 produced each year. The 2010 is comprised of 84% Chardonnay and 16% Pinot Noir from Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Marin, and is aged for seven years on lees in Schramsberg’s Diamond Mountain caves. It is bright, elegant and dry, with beautiful notes of apples, tropical fruits, toasted nuts and salted butter. Superb as an aperitif but superlative when paired with shellfish or salty cheeses.
