Domain Joseph Mellot was established in 1513 by Pierre Etienne Mellot and remains family owned. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes for La Grande Chatelaine come from the estate’s oldest vines and are fermented in oak barrels. It has delicately fleshy notes of exotic fruits and citrus yet has intriguing spicy inflections. Though fuller-bodied and richer in style, it still retains exceptional freshness and finesse.
