Situated in Napa Valley, Rombauer Vineyards crafts wines sourced from both estate and grower vineyards, with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Zinfandel. In 2023, the winery transitioned under the ownership of E. & J. Gallo. This particular Merlot hails from the outstanding 1987 vintage. Despite facing challenges during the heatwave at harvest, the Merlot grapes thrived, producing small, intense berries that translated into wines of opulent fruit, underscored by refinement and balance.
