Thomas Rivers Brown is one of the most highly regarded consultant winemakers currently working in California and, whilst helping to make wine at over 10 different wineries (incl. Schrader and Maybach), has quietly established his own highly revered range of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the cool climate Sonoma Coast. The 2018 Summa Vineyard Pinot Noir is bright and crunchy-fruited with a delicious savoury edge, offering up notes of black cherry, plum, liquorice, pine resin and crushed stones. Supple yet serious, this has earlier drinking appeal than the Old Vines Summa but will also develop nicely with age.
