Weingut Reinhold Haart lies mere metres away from the banks of the river Mosel and the family has been cultivating vines here since 1337. They only produce Riesling from their 8 hectares of vines and eschew the use of any chemical fertilisers in their vineyards. The Ohligsberg vineyard is extremely steep and is dominated by quartzite and blue-grey slate soils. The Rieslings produced here are often thrilling and vibrant, with excellent purity and a distinctive savoury twist. The 2014 is a powerful and concentrated release, with both early drinking appeal and further potential develop to offer.
