The Priorat Clos de l`Obac 2001, produced by Costers del Siurana, is a blend of approximately 35% Grenache, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller proportions of Syrah, Merlot, and Carignan. This vintage exhibits a deep, dark ruby hue, indicative of the region`s concentrated fruit. On the nose, it reveals earthy aromas intertwined with subtle spices. The palate is well-structured, featuring mature tannins and balanced acidity. Established in 1987 by Carles Pastrana and Mariona Jarque, Costers del Siurana is renowned for its commitment to traditional winemaking practices, emphasizing the unique characteristics of the Priorat terroir.
Good deep red-ruby. Deeper, more complex nose combines red berry liqueur, tobacco, smoke, minerals, leather and wild herbs. Round and pliant but also fresh and precise, with excellent vibrancy and grip. Captivating, exotic hints of blood orange, nectarine and orange peel. Very individual and not at all overdone. Elegantly styled for Priorat wine, finishing with very suave tannins and impressive subtle persistence.
