Masseria Altemura`s Primitivo di Manduria is a fine example of the southern Italian Primitivo grape at its best, coming from the region of Puglia. Primitivo produces robust red wines, and in Manduria, it finds one of its most expressive terroirs. Primitivo di Manduria wines are typically characterized by their ripe fruit flavours, including notes of black cherry, plum, and figs, often underpinned by hints of sweet spices, tobacco, and cocoa, given the time spent maturing in oak barrels. On the palate, these wines are full-bodied and warm, with a plush texture, well-integrated tannins, and a long, satisfying finish.
