Port Ellen Connoisseurs Choice by Gordon and MacPhail, bottled in 1997, is a 17-year-old whisky that offers insight into the distillery`s unique character from the 1980 vintage. Notably, Gordon and MacPhail has been a family-run business since 1895, known for its pursuit of quality and tradition in whisky maturation. Port Ellen closed in 1983 and lay dorment until it was revived by Diageo in the early 2020s.
