Ovid Winery was established in 1998 and has cemented a reputation as an experimental boutique producer crafting some remarkably interesting Californian wines. Alongside the four standard release cuvées, there is also an experimental series only released in supremely limited quantity that allows consumers to taste and experience new aspects of Ovid’s vineyard or winemaking. The 2017 W.47 White is an exploration of white varieties, some of which were sourced from the cooler Mendocino County region. It is a rich, textural and fresh wine with notes of tropical fruits, blackcurrant leaf, white peach and herbs.
