Born out of the mezcal traditions of Durango and Oaxaca, Origen Raíz is the joint project of two influential families in Mexico, the Saravias and the Cortés. The families were brought together by their sons, Asis Cortés and Bildo Saravia, through passion for their unique heritage. This release is made with maguey Chacaleño by Carlos Angulo Rios in El Platanar, Durango. On the nose, expect aromas of sandalwood, cedar and a dash of spearmint. The palate is marked by a peppery character, combining notes of sage, anise, mint and hints of leather.
