This is a new edition of Nikka`s Taketsuru Pure Malt, released in 2020. The name is a reference to Nikka`s founder, Masataka Taketsuru, who established Nikka all the way back in 1934. The nose reveals grassy malt, vanilla, toasted coconut, pineapple and earthy undertones. There is more vanilla on the palate, followed by pears, peaches, butter and some floral accents.
