Located in Calistoga, Chateau Montelena has been regarded as one of true pioneers of fine Napa Cabernet since its inception in 1972. The celebrated team of owner Jim Barrett and winemaker Mike Grgich arguably ushered in a new era for California Cabernet with the first Chateau Montelena wines. The 1976 is the third vintage of Cabernet that they produced.
