As one of the oldest cava producers, the Mestres family boasts a lineage dating back to 1312 as wine négociants, and they have held vineyards in Sant Sadurni d’Anoia since at least 1607. ‘Elena’ is a rosé cava crafted from equal parts of Trepat, Monastrell, and Garnacha. The result is a sparkling wine that skilfully combines delightful hints of red fruit with nuanced smokiness. Mestres takes pride in highlighting that it is ‘the only rosé cava subjected to barrel ageing’.
