Le Macchiole Messorio 2010 is a full-bodied red wine from the Bolgheri sub-region of Tuscany, central Italy. Dating back to the beginning of the 1980s, and founded by Eugenio Campolmi and Cinzia Merli, `Le Macchiole` is one of the historic wineries in Bolgheri. Over the years it has become a reference point for quality Tuscan wine. Messorio was first produced in 1994 and is made from 100% Merlot, with 18 months spent maturing in oak barriques. "A wine with great structure and muscular tone. It`s full-bodied with chewy tannins that remain polished and very pretty. The length and fruit are fantastic; it goes on for minutes."
