Benjamin Leroux is a well-respected winemaker and wine producer based in the Côte de Beaune. After working as the winemaker for the esteemed Domaine Comte Armand for several years, he started his own label in 2007. Leroux focuses on producing high-quality wines that showcase the terroir of Burgundy, with a particular emphasis on small production quantities and meticulous attention to detail in both the vineyard and the winery. Although not as widely recognised as some of its neighbours in Gevrey-Chambertin, Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru is celebrated by connoisseurs for its distinctive balance between power and elegance, epitomising the classic style of Grand Cru Burgundy.
- The 2009 Mazoyères-Chambertin is breathtaking. The bouquet alone is dazzling, but then the layers of fruit hit the palate in a stunning display of class and elegance. Mint, crushed flowers and the silkiest of tannins round out the eternal finish. A recent bottle of The 2008 was equally impressive. Tasted from barrel.
