Mauro Godello 2017

HED58119 75cl 14.5%
Bodegas Mauro is a premium winery established in 1978 in the historic town of Tudela de Duero, in the province of Valladolid. However, they produce a white wine from the Godello variety, sourced from two vineyards in Bierzo and is labelled under the generic Vino de la tierra Castilla y León appellation. It is fermented and matured with fine lees in 500-litre barrels, giving an aromatically complex and delightfully textural wine that is both delicious when consumed young but has the potential for short term cellaring. 2017 was perhaps a slightly more opulent year, however, it retains classical mineral tension and freshness.

Mauro

Since its inception in 1980 by Mariano García, Bodegas Mauro has been dedicated to producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of Tudela de Duero. Although located outside the Ribera del Duero appellation, Mauro’s wines are crafted with meticulous care, blending traditional and modern techniques. The winery’s 90 hectares of vineyards yield predominantly Tempranillo grapes, enhanced by Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Known for their richness and depth, Mauro’s wines are aged in both French and American oak, offering a harmonious balance of power and elegance.
