Established in 1970 by Enrique Forner, Marqués de Cáceres has been a pioneering force in Rioja. Forner played a pivotal role as one of the first in the region to advocate for the use of French oak barrels in the ageing process. The 1989 Gran Reserva presents an incredibly enticing aroma of vanilla. The palate is smooth, marked by a tannin structure that is quite pleasing. The fruity character is prominently displayed, boasting notes of spices, prune, and mineral accents.
