MaraMia Sangiovese Rubicone 2019 is a full-bodied red wine from the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. Tenuta Biodinamica Mara was founded in 2000 by Giordano Emendatori. This release is made from biodynamically farmed Sangiovese grown in the Rubicone appellation of Emilia-Romagna. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels and then for an additional six months in the bottle. It has a deep ruby red colour and aromas of red fruits, spices, and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and boasts flavours of black cherry, plum, and chocolate.
The 2019 Sangiovese Maramia is wild, with a spicy blend of woodland berries, incense, exotic florals and wet stones forming its bouquet. This is juicy and graceful in style, with an herbal tinge matched by masses of ripe red and blue fruits. There is no shortage of minerality here as the 2019 finishes long and staining with nuances of raspberries and sage. This is a lot of fun to taste.
