Christoph Heiss, a rising star winemaker in Austria`s Kamptal region, recently released his inaugural bottling of Pinot Noir. Taking over his family`s winery in Engabrunn, Heiss is making waves with exciting wines like this one. Though small production at just one barrel, this Pinot oozes varietal character. Delicate yet complex, it layers red and black fruit notes with earthy spice. The ethereal texture belies an impressively long finish. This is an exciting first release from a winemaker to watch.
