Mac Forbes Black Label Pinot Noir 2013 is a single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Yarra Valley of Victoria, Australia. This is the inaugural release of Mac Forbes`s Black Label range of single-vineyard wines. Having consulted for several of the world`s premier wine estates, including Penfolds in South Australia and Niepoort in the Douro Valley, Forbes has made a name for himself as one of the most talented producers of terroir-focused wines in Australia, his stated aim being to make “honest wines that reflect extraordinary sites". Produced from a 1.36ha block of vines leased by Forbes from the Ferguson family since 2012, Mac Forbes Black Label Pinot Noir 2013 is produced from the best single barrel of Pinot sourced from the middle section of the School House block vineyard in Woori Yallock. This south-facing vineyard was planted in 1995 and produces stunning fruit in both hot and cooler years.
