2020 was the first year that Clos Cantenac produced a white wine and this is slightly unusual for a Bordeaux white as it is 100% Semillon. Winemaker Charlotte Krajewski spent a number of years in Australia declaring the whites of Hunter Valley as a primary influence. The semillon fruit was picked slightly early and this is reflected in its low alcohol. Just one part of the wine was fermented in a 300L oak barrel, but on the whole there is no oak influence.
The wine is lean and savoury on the palate with stone fruits, white pear, and lemongrass and a lovely green apply acidity.
