Château Léoville-Poyferré is a Second Growth estate situated in the Saint-Julien appellation. The estate is currently owned by the Cuvelier family, which has a long history in the wine trading business in Bordeaux. The 2020 vintage is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 3% Carbernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, aged in 80% new oak. Expect a beautifully scented nose of violets, roses, blackberries, and dark cherries. On the palate, this medium- to full-bodied wine presents firm yet refined tannins, accompanied by notes of hazelnut and milk chocolate. Its structure is well-defined, while the texture is remarkably elegant. Although already approachable now, the wine will reveal its full potential after three or four years of aging.
