Saffredi is Fattoria Le Pupille’s flagship wine and the 2019 is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, aged for 18 months in French oak barriques, 70% new. Dark fruit on the nose, with notes of blackberry and mulberry, intense aromas of black pepper and cinnamon, tobacco and freshly ground coffee, hints of sandalwood, rhubarb and balsamic notes. The mouthfeel is fresh, with elegant, rounded tannins, leading to a long, fruity finish.
