The international reputation of Montevertine`s Le Pergole Torte speaks for itself. The first vintage released was the 1977 and was the first 100% Sangiovese wine to be produced in the Radda in Chianti area. Aged for about 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels and for about 12 months in Allier barriques. With its iconic artist label by Alfredo Manfredi, this is a bottle that really catches the eye. A truly legendary wine.
The 2013 Le Pergole Torte is another wine that has gone into a shell over the last year. Bold, pungent and powerful, the 2013 possesses striking fruit and overall presence, but it is presently totally shut down. Today, the tannins are forbidding, to say the least. The 2013 Pergole Torte is a wine for the exceedingly patient. - Antonio Galloni - The 2013 Le Pergole Torte is another wine that has gone into a shell over the last year.
