Lanson Vintage 1989 is a vintage Champagne produced by Champagne Lanson in Reims, France. Based in Reims, Founded in 1760, Lanson is one of the oldest houses in the Champagne region. This opulent 1989 vintage expression is an assemblage of 56% Pinot Noir and 44% Chardonnay, with Chardonnay sourced from Oger, Cramant and Chouilly, and Pinot Noir from Aÿ, Bouzy and Verzenay. "The wine is superb, with an elegantly racy acidity supporting the ample depth of fruit. Mature notes of clotted cream, honey and brioche lie under more dominant flavours of citrus, stone fruits and cherry skins, unfolding on the palate with regal grace and subtly layered detail. The finish is exceptionally long, driven by both acidity and chalky minerality. It is typical in Champagne to compare 1989 with 1990. in the case of these Lansons, the 1990 is firmer and denser, but the 1989 is more complex and complete." Decanter, 2021
