Koval Rye is a small-batch American rye whisky produced by the Koval Distillery in Chicago, USA. The first distillery to operate in Chicago since the mid-1800s, Koval was founded by academics Robert and Sonat Birnecker in 2008. Koval is the first distillery in the US to utilise millet, a prized grain in Asia and Africa, in its whiskeys. Produced from a single barrel with a mash bill of 100% organically farmed millet, Koval Rye offers notes of lightly toasted nuts and vanilla on the palate, with a clean and bright finish.
