Founded in 1638, Kopke is universally recognised as the first Port House in the industry’s history and has an incredible reputation for their range of Colheita Tawny Ports which are made from a single harvest, aged in wood for as long as possible and are only bottled upon commission. Amber in colour with golden hues, the delightful 1980 bottling is intense and alluring on the nose with notes of figs, golden sultana, spices and caramel. Deeply flavoured and wonderfully complex, the palate exudes pinpoint precision, driving powerfully across the tongue to an exceptional finish of quite remarkable length. Served chilled this makes a wonderful accompaniment to crème brûlée.
