An exciting find from ultra-premium Georgian winemaker, Khomli. Produced from the indigenous red Usakhelouri grape variety, grown in the Lechkhumi region, on the north-western slope of Khomli Mountain and made in traditional Georgian clay quevri. Notes of berries and dried prunes mingle with the complexity of spices, herbs, black pepper and bay leaf. With aeration, complex toasty, smoked character comes to the fore, with notes of smoked meat and earth. Structured by mature and well-developed tannins, balanced by fresh acidity and concluding on a spicy, long finish.
