The Kentucky Owl Mardi Gras XO is a fine 11-year-old Kentucky Owl rye whiskey, further matured in 38 fresh Bayou Mardi Gras XO Rum barrels. This whiskey was left to finish for over a year, entering the rum barrels in March and left to age throughout two summer seasons. Like many Kentucky Owl products, the Mardi Gras XO Cask Limited Edition is perfectly balanced. The influence of the rum finish is noticeable from start to finish, introducing an array of sweet nuances that blend harmoniously with the established rye base. Furthermore, a pleasing woody character makes its presence known on both the nose and the palate.
