The annual release of Kanonkop Estate`s Paul Sauer is a highly anticipated event on the wine calendar, and this year is no exception. After malolactic fermentation, the Cabernet Sauvignon [69%], Cabernet Franc [17%], and Merlot [14%] components were skilfully blended and then aged in new 225-litre French oak barrels. True to tradition, the wine matures in oak barrels for 24 months. The 2020 vintage presents a classic wine characterized by a rich ruby colour. It boasts a dense and intricately layered profile featuring tilled earth, and notes of red and blackcurrant, all complemented by the essence of cedar. The wine exhibits an elegant structure, precise tannins, and smart integration of new oak.
