Founded in 1973 and family-owned ever since, Joseph Phelps Vineyards is one of the most iconic and acclaimed California estates. Insignia is their flagship wine and is now recognised as one of the greatest Bordeaux blends in the region. The 1999 is a delicious blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot with lesser parts Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Now nearing peak maturity, it is sweet and open-knit with notes of roasted black fruits, liquorice, cedar and spice.
