JJ Prüm is a distinguished family-owned winery situated in the Mosel region of Germany, exclusively producing Riesling wines. Established in 1911 by Johann Josef Prüm, the estate gained prominence under the stewardship of his son, Sebastian, from 1930 onwards. Today, the winery is managed by Sebastian`s descendants, Manfred and Wolfgang, who continue to uphold the family`s winemaking traditions.

The estate`s vineyards, averaging over 50 years in age, are renowned for their steep slopes and slate soils, contributing to the distinctive minerality and complexity of their wines.

The 2001 JJ Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel is a testament to the estate`s commitment to quality. Sourced from the esteemed Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard, known for its steep slopes and unique microclimate, this wine offers a complex aroma profile, combining dried apricot, honey, and subtle minerality. On the palate, it presents a rich, luscious sweetness balanced by vibrant acidity. Flavours of ripe stone fruits and citrus emerge, interlaced with hints of petrol and spice, typical of Riesling from this esteemed Mosel vineyard. This vintage exemplifies the balance and complexity that have become synonymous with JJ Prüm`s winemaking prowess.
