Heitz Martha`s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1981

Heitz Cellars is the iconic Napa Valley winery founded in 1961 by Joe and Alice Heitz. It is best known for its single vineyard wines made of Cabernet Sauvignon, and in particular the Martha`s Vineyard wine, the first vintage of which was 1966. This release hails from the 1981 vintage when California experienced an early harvest due to a mid-August heatwave. On the nose, expect aromas of mint, dark fruits, herbs, tobacco, earth, leather and dried violets. The palate is rich, bold and surprisingly young for its age.
