Distilled in the late 1960s, this special release from Cognac Sponge is a marriage of five casks of Fins Bois sourced from the cellars of Grosperrin and bottled at cask strength. On the nose, Maraschino cherries, banana cream pie, sharp green apple taffy, some vanilla beans paste and almond tart. The palate reveals musty old oak followed by more almond tart and wet tobacco.

His son, Guilhem, expanded the collection and focused on terroir. By 2012, the company moved to historic cellars in Saintes, and Axelle Grosperrin joined in 2013 to promote the brand internationally.
