Established in 1986, Bodegas Godeval is based in the Galician sub-region of Valdeorras and is a specialist in the local white grape variety, Godello. 1986 is a limited production cuvée made exclusively from Godello grapes that were fermented in new 500-litre French oak barrels and followed by less maturation for 4 months. Richer, rounder and creamier in feel, this has a more luxuriant and voluminous feel to it. Though clearly stylistically different, there is good balance throughout and the naturally bright acidity and delicious fruit character of Godello are not lost. 950 bottles of the 2017 vintage were produced.
