Château Feytit Clinet is a small 15-acre estate in Pomerol, close to Châteaux Trotanoy, Clinet and Latour a Pomerol. Though having had a period of mediocrity, since the year 2000 there has been a significant reversal of fortunes, with quality and consistency improving considerably. The 2005 release is a superb 1,600-case blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that is now absolutely perfect for drinking.
Good ruby-red. Sexy, ripe aromas of cherry, mocha and iron; very Pomerol. Suave, lush and sweet; not hugely concentrated but impressively spherical and inviting. Silky flavors of redcurrant, cherry and mocha. Broadens out impressively on the back end, finishing with fine-grained tannins. I find this very sweet wine accessible already.
