Benanti Etna Rosso Serra Della Contessa Particella 587 2017 is a single-vineyard red wine produced in Etna, Sicily. This elegant Burgundy alternative is a blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes from centenarian vines, some of them own-rooted (ie, phylloxera-free), growing in Contrada Monte Serra. Fermented with yeasts patented by Benanti after extensive research, the wine undergoes extended maceration before being matured in 15hl French oak barrels for approximately 24 months. The wine then spends a further 12 months resting in bottle before release.
